So you’re tough, but are you tough enough to take on the Loaded Tough Guy and Gal Challenge?
New Zealand’s original mud run series; if you want to get down and dirty and have a whole lot of fun, then these unique off-road running events are for you.
Grab your friends, family or workmates and take on either the 6km or 12km muddy obstacle course consisting of swamp crossings, a spider’s web net climb, crawl under barb wire, beautiful native bush trails, tunnels, hurdles, a climbing frame, water crossings and not to mention, mud mud and more mud! The events are open to both male and female competitors who are 13 years of age and older. Our events have awesome spot prizes, merit prizes, amazing goodies, souvenir coffee mugs, challenging obstacles, a fun atmosphere and plenty of free parking.

Entry Confirmation
You will receive confirmation of your entry and team number via email when you enter. Please print this out and bring along to registration. You can also check your entry by clicking here and looking at our confirmed entrant list. (Link to come).
One off Payments
If you would like to make a one off payment for your group (10 people or more) you can do so via direct debit, cheque or credit card. If you can please email jenna@eventpromotions.co.nz with your total number of competitors (10 people or more) for which event and how you would like to pay she will then send you an invoice for that many people. Once proof of payment has been receive she will then issue you with a pin code so you can hand this out to your competitors and they can go online and enter using the pin code.
If you have more people that would like to enter at a later date, email us again with the remaining total of people that would like to enter, we will then send you another invoice. Once payment has been accepted for the second group we will allocate another pin code for that number of people. Please Note – this option ONLY applies if you have 5 or more people to add to your group.
Group Discounts
Enter a group of 10-19 people and receive a special discounted rate of $60 pp
Enter a group of 20+ people and receive a special discounted rate of $50 pp
All group entries MUST be received at least three weeks prior to each event to qualify for the discount.
How to enter a Group!
Option 1: Email jenna@eventpromotions.co.nz with the number of competitors you wish to enter, we will then send you an invoice, and once the invoice has been paid we will allocate you with a pin code. This means you will be able to enter yourself and your group through our online system, or provide your group with the pin code so they can enter themselves online.
If you have more people that would like to enter at a later date, email us again with the remaining total of people that would like to enter, we will then send you another invoice. Once payment has been accepted for the second group we will allocate another pin code for that number of people. Please Note – this option ONLY applies if you have 5 or more people to add to your group

Event Day Timetable for all Venues
8 – 9.30am: Registration and late entries
10am: Start of the 12km event
10.10am: Start of the 6km event
12.45pm: Prize-giving
Registrations
Wellington: Camp Wainui, 203 Coast Road, Wainuiomata. Registration in main building.
Auckland: Helensville Tennis Club – 164 Rautawhiri Road. Registration will be at the Tennis Centre.
Rotorua: Lakes Ranch, 79 Lake Rotokawau Rd. Registration will be in the big barn.
Cut off Times
All 12km competitors must have completed 1 lap of the course by 11.15am otherwise they will only be permitted to do the 6km event.
Refund Policy
Refunds up until 7 days before the event date will incur a $15.00 administration/booking fee. There will be no refunds with 7 days of the event date. In the case of a natural disaster, closure of the forest due to high winds or other uncontrollable factors, “Act of God” conditions causing the cancellation of the event, entry fees will not be refunded. Please contact 07 3483301 or jenna@eventpromotions.co.nz if you need to withdraw from the event.
Transfers/Changes
Person to person transfers may be made between competitors up to 7 days prior to the event date – after this they must be made at the event day registration. These transfers MUST be made between the same entry type (event distance).
Transferring to a different entry type and event days can be done 14 days prior to the event date – after this they must be done at the event day registration.
Please contact 07 3483301 or jenna@eventpromotions.co.nz prior to this date. After this date, any changes will need to be made at registration on the day.
Covid-19 Event Policy
If this event is cancelled due to government restrictions relating to the covid-19 pandemic the below options will be available for you
- Transfer your entry for this event to the following year
- Transfer to an alternative Event Promotions event (event options to be listed at the time of cancellation)
- Receive a 50% refund of your entry fee
If the event is postponed your entry will be automatically moved to the new event date provided by Event Promotions.
All competitors who are entered into the event will be contacted via email if there are any changes to the event.
Prove that your company group is tough enough by taking on the famous Tough Guy and Gal Challenge in the Corporate and Gym/Club Challenge!
In this ultimate off road challenge your group will test themselves on a course that includes swamps, net climbs, natural and man made obstacles, mud mud and more mud.
This is a chance for your company or gym/club to get together outside of work hours, train, work on team bonding, swap the business attire for fancy dress and take on the 6km run or walk course option in the fight for the Corporate Challenge or Gym/Club Challenge title!
How it works?!
Available for the 6km course option only!!
Get together a group of at least 5 people, create a corporate or gym/club name and enter yourselves for the challenge. You must have a minimum of 5 group members, there are no maximum number of members in a Corporate or Gym/Club Team.
The Corporate and Gym/Club Challenge trophy will be awarded to the first team of five competing in the 6km event. Your combined individual placings will be used to calculate your overall team placing. Plus – all your team members are eligible for individual grade positions. For example; if your top 5 team places are 14th Male, 22nd Male, 32nd Male, 4th Female and 19th Female mean your team total is 14 + 22 + 32 + 4 + 19 = 91 points
All members of your Corporate team must be employees, relatives, partners of, contractors, or suppliers to the company.
All members of your Gym/Club team must be members or employees of your gym or club.
What is the cost to enter a Corporate or Gym/Club Team
Standard or bulk entry fees apply for corporate teams. Fees as per Entry Fee tab.
How to register a Corporate or Gym/Club Team
Option 1: If you would like to enter a Corporate or Gym/Club team please get your team manager to register a team by selecting the “Register New Team” from the home page of the online registration page.
Once you have created a new team with a name and password you will then receive an email with this information. As the team manager you can either enter all your team members yourself or forward the email with your team name and password onto your team members to enter themselves.

6km Corporate Challenge
Open to any Corporate or Companies male and female, all ages. A trophy and a quality team prize will be awarded to the fastest Corporate team of 5 people (minimum of 2 women in each team)
Prizes
Prize-giving is held at 12.45pm (or as soon as we get results are the final competitors have finished) It will be held at from the stage truck and you must be present to take home any prizes!
Merit Prizes
Medals will be awarded to the top 3 Toughest Guys & Gals in each category.
Spot Prizes

Have you got what it takes to be the fastest, muddiest, and toughest Tough Guy or Tough Gal in New Zealand???
Take part in either the Adult Wellington or Auckland Tough Guy and Gal Challenges and podium in either the 6km and 12km, or take part in either of the Secondary School Tough Guy and Gal events in Wellington, Hamilton or Auckland and podium at the event and you will receive a letter inviting you to the 12km Steinlager Pure Ultra New Zealand Tough Guy & Gal Championship held in Rotorua on the 21st August.
Or if you have podiumed at any of the Tough Guy and Gal Challenge events (6km or 12km) in the last 3 years or if you are confident you can run a distance of 10km in 45 minutes (for men) and 50 minutes (for women) then you are welcome to enter the NZ Champs for an entry fee of $60.
How am I eligible to take part in the NZ Champs
- Podium at either the Wellington or Auckland Adult events in 6km or 12km (Complimentary Entry)
- Podium at either the Wellington, Hamilton, Auckland or Rotorua Secondary Schools events (Complimentary Entry)
- If you have podiumed at any of the Tough Guy and Gal Challenge events (6km or 12km) in the last 3 years. (Entry Fee cost Adult – $60 and Secondary School $45)
- If you are confident you can run a distance of 10km in 45 minutes (for men) and 50 minutes (for women). (Entry Fee cost Adult – $60 and Secondary School $45)

When and where
The Steinlager New Zealand Tough Guy and Gal Championship will be held on the 21st August at the Saturday Rotorua Tough Guy and Gal Challenge.
Entry fee
Adults – $60 per person and you must enter before 11th August 2021.
Secondary Schools – $45 per person and you must enter before 11th August 2021.

• Every entry regardless of category or entry type is an Individual entry.
• Enter a group of 10-19 people and receive a special discounted rate of $60 pp – all entries are still individual entries
• Enter a group of 20+ people and receive a special discounted rate of $50 pp – all entries are still individual entries
• A group of less than 10 people are still individual entries and need to enter individually online or via entry form.
Age Limit
13+ for the Tough Guy & Gal Challenge ( If they are younger, please see our Junior Tough Guy and Gal).
Limited numbers
Each event has limited places available, so make sure you enter early to avoid disappointment as these events sell out! We will advise on the website when an event sells out.
What to wear
It is compulsory to wear covered in shoes during the event. You will get wet and muddy. A dry set of clothing, beanie and jacket is highly recommended following your event. Football or Rugby boots with molded studs are acceptable, running spikes or boots with aluminium studs are not permitted.
Every Competitor Receives
Each competitor will receive a Loaded sports drink, FREE Hell Pizza (voucher valued at $9.50), Tough Guy and Gal branded reusable cup, electronic timing and a chance to win one of the major spot prizes.
Personalised Bib Numbers
If you enter at least two weeks before your event you will receive your very own personalized bib number.
Shower and Parking
Hot showers, parking and first aid support are included in your entry fee.
Food and Drinks
Hot food and beverages will be available from the venue for purchase – please bring cash as most places will not have Eftpos facilities.

Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®) New Zealand supports families when their child is in a New Zealand hospital away from home! RMHC New Zealand keeps families together, positively impacting on their journey by allowing them to focus on their children.
You can get involved by:

– Set up your own online fndraising page and collect donations
Individuals who raise $140 or more for RMHC will receive a special drink bottle.
The money you raise through your Tough Guy & Gal event will support families while their children receive medical treatment in a hospital away from home. Download the RMHC fundraising form (link above), fill out your details and then use this form to collect the details of the people who have donated to you. Give the form and the money you have raised back to RMHC New Zealand team at your Tough Guy & Gal event.

This is the original home of the Tough Guy & Gal Challenge. This venue provides a magnificent course with spectacular scenery for the ultimate experience.The facilities include hot showers, large hot swimming pool, backpacker style accommodation, hot food and coffee for sale and good parking.
Numbers are limited to 2000 per day!

Camp Wainui provides a unique opportunity within a NZ Native bush environment.
