2020 saw Karapiro host the 21st 100K Flyer. Now in its new home, Karapiro will host the 22nd 100K Flyer for the third year in 2021 (previously known as the Rotorua to Taupo 100K) starting and finishing at the Mighty River Domain in Karapiro. We are delighted to have Ride Holidays join us for the next two years as the official naming rights sponsor of this event.
Join over 1500 cyclists in this 100km circuit were you will ride through quiet rolling country roads and at the completion of your race you will receive a stunning finisher’s medal. Make sure you join us for one of the most loved events in the country on Saturday 25th September 2021.

Course Information

Venue: Sir Don Rowlands Centre, Mighty River Domain, Karapiro
Course Description
Competitors will start at the stunning Might River Domain, Karapiro on Maungatautari Road. You will ride north for 5k and then veer left onto Lamb Road and then left again onto Roto O Rangi Road. You follow this road for just over 12km then you will veer into Chamberlain Road following this to the end and then turning left onto Long Road, follow this to the end then turn right onto Puahue Road and make their way around the back of Kihikihi via Hairini Road, Oliver Street, Grey Street and Dick Street turning left into Arapuni Road for around 7km. You then turn right onto Owairaka Valley Road to the end, turn left onto Aotearoa Road which quickly veers around to the right were riders turn left onto Waipapa Road and follow this for around 3.5km. Competitors then turn left onto Rotongata Road and then left onto Waimanu Road riding for 6km until it meets back up with Arapuni Road where you will take a right hand turn. Follow Arapuni Road for 4.5km then veer left onto Oreipunga Road for around 12km until it meets back up with Maungatautari Road. Riders continue on Maungatautari Road for 12km which will then lead you back to the Finish/Start line.
Special Caution/Extra Care
There are two right hand turns which require addition care and caution. These will be controlled by the traffic management, however we ask that all rider abide by all road rules.
The first Right hand turn is at the 36.5km mark turning right off Arapuni Road onto Owairaka Valley Road.
The second right hand turn is at the 66km mark turning right off Waimanu Road onto Arapuni Road.
Aid Stations
Water and toilets are available just past the 50km mark at the Wharepapa South School (on the corner of Owairaka Valley Road and Wharepapa South Road). Relay team change over.
