This is is the ultimate obstacle course race designed to bring families together for a day of fun, fitness, and adventure. This exciting event is perfect for parents, caregivers, and kids to bond while tackling challenges that will test their endurance, strength, and teamwork.

The Family Tough Guy and Gal Challenge is more than just a race – it’s an adventure that strengthens family ties while embracing the great outdoors. The Ngaruawahia Christian Youth Camp offers a stunning venue nestled between the Waipa River and the Hakarimata Scenic Reserve. The camp is set amongst 38 hectares of native bush and pastures, ready and waiting for tough guys and gals to take on the challenge. The facilities include hot showers, toilets, changing rooms and free parking.

Massey University Recreation Centre via Albany Drive
(5km from the CBD of Palmerston North)
This event is based at the Massey University Recreation Centre with a fantastic course for the Junior Tough Guy and Gal Challenge. The facilities include hot showers, toilets, changing rooms and free parking.

KUMEU, WEST AUCKLAND
Kumeu Showgrounds, Gate 2, Access Road, Kumeu
Only 20 km out of the Auckland CBD, the Kumeu Showgrounds is a blank canvas of 80 acres. The facilities include hot showers, toilets, changing rooms and free parking. We will have designated car, van and bus parking areas available.

ROTORUA

This is the original home of the Tough Guy & Gal Challenge. This venue provides a magnificent course with spectacular scenery for the ultimate experience. The facilities include hot showers, toilets, changing rooms and free parking, plus backpacker style accommodation available.

1x adult/parent 18 years or older PLUS 1x or 2x children aged 7-12 years
(please note that there is a maximum 1:2 ratio of over 18/under 18 required to enter this event. We cannot add any more children to a team).

You will receive confirmation of your entry via email after you have completed the online entry process.
PERSONALISED RACE NUMBER
If you would like your Family Team Name printed on your race bib, please make sure you are entered three weeks prior to the event date.

Withdrawal and Refund Policy
ALL withdrawals MUST be notified to info@eventpromotions.co.nz by 9am, 7 days prior to the event date. These withdrawals will receive their entry fee refund, minus a $10.00 administrative/booking fee per competitor.
Any withdrawals notified after this time will NOT be entitled to a refund, no exceptions.
In the case of a natural disaster, extreme or dangerous weather situation, “Act of God” conditions, or other uncontrollable factors causing the cancellation of the event, entry fees will not be refunded.
Transfer Policy
All person to person transfers between the same entry type (event distance) MUST be made by 9:00am, 14 days prior to the event, no exceptions. After this date they must be made at the event day registrations and MUST be made between the same entry type (event distance).
Transferring to a different entry type (event distance) can be done up to 14 days prior to the event. After this, they must be done at the event day registration.
You cannot transfer an entry to another event, or following year under any circumstances.

What to wear
It is compulsory to wear covered in shoes during the event. You will get wet and muddy. A dry set of clothing, beanie and jacket is highly recommended following your event. Football or rugby boots with moulded studs are acceptable, running spikes or boots with aluminium studs are not permitted.
